Hello, you beautiful people! We hope you're all well. For those of you who managed to buy our August Lemonade Box, despite them selling out in nine days, we hope you are enjoying them! We are aware that many of you were rather upset that you were unable to purchase one, so make sure you don't miss out in September by pre-ordering from our website: www.lemonadebox.co.uk

This blog post is just a quick one from us, really. We just wanted to share a little outing we had on the 9th of August 2019. For those of you who follow us on Instagram (@lemonade.box) and Twitter (@lemonadebox), you would most likely have already seen the image and are therefore aware of what we did and where we went. But, for those of you who don't, we thought it would make a lovely little blog post!

So, for the past couple of weeks, we, at Lemonade Box have been brainstorming numerous ideas regarding ways that we can help those around us. We are extremely passionate about helping others and spreading as much love and kindness as we possibly can. This passion is actually what influenced us to create the subscription box company that is Lemonade Box! We often get messages from you beautiful people, whether you simply follow our pages or you subscribe to our boxes, many of you reach out and let us know that either our boxes have helped you, our blog posts, or simply our kind words of encouragement and support have brightened your day. These messages really do make everything we work for so, so worth it and we wanted to let you know that we appreciate every single one of you. The messages we get encourage us to continue helping others and spreading positivity in any way that we can. Furthermore, after trying to think of ways we could branch out a little bit and help more people, we came to a lovely conclusion.

As you may already be aware, Lemonade Box is a partnership business, owned by myself - Priya Shrivastav and my wonderful partner, Kyra Brown. Although our office is based in Birmingham (where I was born and brought up), Kyra was born and brought up in Chertsey, Surrey. Both of our hometowns are incredibly special to us and we wanted to be able to give something back to our communities, starting with Surrey. So, we got in touch with a truly amazing company based in Woking, called YourSanctuary.

YourSanctuary offer sanctuary, support and empowerment to anyone affected by Domestic Abuse. All of their services are confidential and their staff and volunteers will listen to you and provide information, emotional and practical support for as long as you may need them. Their website is https://www.yoursanctuary.org.uk and if anyone needs it, their helpline is: 01483 776822. It is available between 9am and 9pm, 365 days per year

(Outside of these times you can leave a voicemail message which they will deal with on the next working day or, if you need immediate help and support phone the 24 hour National DA Helpline on Freephone 0808 2000 247.

After researching their company, we thought that what they do is absolutely incredible. We spoke and met with lovely woman called Wendy Denty, the Community and Corporate Fundraiser. She was so friendly, funny and welcoming. She told us a little bit more about the company and about how grateful the refuges at the Sanctuary will be to receive our Lemonade Boxes. She told us that it makes their day just to know that someone has thought of them. They don't have much, so when someone does donate something, they are over the moon. This was rather heartbreaking to hear, because everybody should feel like someone cares. So, to know that we were able to make those people a little happier was an amazing feeling.

We aim to do the same thing for a charity in Birmingham over the next few weeks. As we've mentioned previously, we are very passionate about spreading love and showing kindness to as many people as we possibly can. We want our followers and subscribers to also have this mission, because we are all living on the same planet and we should all therefore be mindful of each other's feelings. Everyone is fighting their own battle. It was lovely to help the women at YourSanctuary, because we know a little bit about their struggles and what they have been through. However, there are so many other battles that they would have gone through and are still going through, that we have absolutely no idea about. This goes for everyone. Everyone is fighting a battle that others don't necessarily know about. That's why it is so important to be kind to everyone you meet.

We hope that if there's one thing you take from us, it is that you should always practice self-care in its many forms; your mental and physical health should always be one of your priorities. In addition to this, though, we hope you treat others with that same kindness. Look after those around you. Never underestimate the power of little gestures, such as a smile. Be someone you're proud of.
